The Registry of the Diocese of Sydney is part of the Archbishop’s Office. The Registry collects various records for the Anglican Diocese of Sydney, as required under various administrative ordinances of the Diocese. Records which are no longer current are accessed from the Sydney Diocesan Archives.
Some of the work of the Registry includes:
• Licensing – which includes clergy, lay ministers, churches, faculties etc;
• Collection of the Annual General Meeting of Parishioners returns and maintaining these records;
• Maintaining the records of all Synod Representatives – elected/appointed;
• Co-ordination of Nomination Boards;
• The publication of the Diocesan Year Book which includes the collection and the maintenance of this information.
The Registry of the Diocese of Sydney is responsible for facilitating the work of the Archbishop. The Registry encourages the assistance of users of the secure website to help maintain their records held in the Registry database. We hope that having this information available on a secure internet site will increase the accuracy of the information held as it can be easily accessed and updated at anytime.

Access to the secure Registry website
The secure Registry website is available to all who hold a current licence/authority from the Archbishop or those who hold an active parish appointment. This includes:
• Paid Lay Workers;
• Catechists and Readers;
• Safe Ministry Representatives;
• Synod Representatives.
The above people can control their own access through the information stored on the Registry Database. For an individual to gain access their email address and date of birth need to be recorded on the Registry database. Please email the with this information. Once this information is recorded they can simply click the button ‘First time/Forgotten password’ and enter their email address and date of birth and an automated email will be sent giving them a user code and a temporary password.
The Church Administrator/Office Secretary can be given parish access to the website to view up-to-date year book information, maintain and submit the Annual Statistics, maintain and submit the Annual General Meeting returns and their Parish Year Book information. They need to email the , with their full name (including any middle names), parish name and email address.
Active parish nominators can also be given access to the website to view up-to-date clergy year book information. For one of the nominators to be given access they need to email the , with their full name (including any middle names), parish name and email address.
The incumbent can request parish access be given to someone he nominates eg a Warden, Assistant Minister etc. The Incumbent needs to email the , with the nominees full name (including any middle names), parish name and email address.
